State Medals and Industry Prizes for Excellence

In 2008 TAFE NSW awarded State Medals to four students of the Western Institute. Students have also received special prizes from Industry bodies in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

Awards have been presented to the following:

• Michelle Scott from Portland - State Medalist Certificate IV in Aged Care Work.
• Matthew Lewis from Blayney - State Medalist Certificate III in Industrial Electronics.
• Andrew Coyte from Orange - State Medalist Certificate III in Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Ryan Grives from Bathurst - State Medalist Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying, the FH Prager Award for 2008 and the Construction Forestry Mining & Energy Union (CFMEU) Award.
• Peter Gower from Orange - Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (IAME) Award for 2008.
