Ryan Grives

After successfully completing an apprenticeship in Automotive Vehicle Body Painting in 2003, Ryan decided in 2005 to pursue a career in the building industry and began an apprenticeship working with his father's bricklaying business.

Ryan achieved a distinction level in each of the 15 graded units in the Certificate III Bricklaying and Blocklaying. He is currently undertaking the Certificate IV in Building Studies to fulfil his long-term plan to become a licensed builder.

In 2006 he was awarded a V8 Supercar Scholarship and last year the Masonry Contractors' Association named him as the best Central West bricklaying apprentice for 2007.

He is also a keen sportsman and has been part of the Central West Hockey Association's representative team.

At the 2008 Award presentations Ryan also received a State Medal for coming first in the state in Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying as well as the 2008 FH Prager Award and the Construction Forestry Mining & Energy Union (CFMEU) Award.
