Karen James - Aboriginal Student of the Year
Karen has completed the Certificate III in Educational Support - Teachers Aide Special by flexible delivery from the Parkes College.
As the mother of six young children Karen spends a lot of time helping at their school and with sporting activities.
Karen believes TAFE has given her a lot of confidence and that she can now do more to help her own children as well as those she helps as a teacher's aide and in the sporting groups she is involved with.
Karen's teachers recognised her as an outstanding student. Margaret Jones described her work as exceptional and said, "She is the best student I have ever had, enthusiastic, completing her work to very high standards. Always interested and wanting to learn more."
