  • Phil Redenbach, NECA National Award for Excellence in Teaching, in Electrical Trades
  • Tracy Goodwin, was named the Teacher/Trainer of the Year at the Western NSW Training Awards

Student Awards

  • Ben Houghton, who won the Gold Medal for Electrical Installation at the International Worldskills Competition in London
  • Lester Tibbles, who won the Bronze Medal for Bricklaying at the International Worldskills Competition in London
  • Michael Theobold, who won a Bronze Medal as part of the Manufacturing Team Challenge at the International Worldskills Competition in London
  • Kodie Keed was named the Trainee of the Year at the 2011 TAFE NSW Gili Awards
  • Kerry Jenkins, Automotive Training Board 2011 Motorcycle Apprentice Award.

2010

Institute Awards

  • 2010 Quality Project of the Year and winner of Excellence in Learning Outcomes at the 2010 TAFE NSW Quality Awards, for the ‘From Little Things Big Things Grow' partnership with the Greater Western Area Health Service to train Aboriginal Health Workers
  • Winner of the Teaching and Learning Practices category at the 2010 TAFE NSW Quality Awards for the Fast Track Hairdressing Apprenticeships program
  • Winner of the Safety and Environmental Sustainability category at the 2010 TAFE NSW Quality Awards, in partnership with TAFE NSW Training and Education Support, for the Education for Sustainability Teacher and Student Induction programs
  • In partnership with the e2 schools in Orange, won a Schools First Impact Award
  • NSW VET in Schools Excellence Award at the NSW Training Awards for a partnership with Country Rugby League and schools
  • National Winner of the campaign category at the Australian Training Marketing Awards, for the FATE vs TAFE advertising campaign
  • printWest and the Training and Education Support Unit in Orange received an Award for Excellence for the Education for Sustainability Induction Program as part of the Department of Education and Training Year of Learning for Sustainability awards
  • The Minister Assisting the Minister for Health (Mental Health) Award for Excellence in the Provision of Mental Health Services in partnership with the Greater Western Area Health Service
  • The Broken Hill Tourism and Hospitality section won the 2010 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence - Regional NSW and was a finalist in the Regional NSW Awards for Excellence
  • Country Energy 'Shiny Halo Award' for taking action to build a resilient future for Central NSW
  • TAFE Western (the Macquarie Region team) won the Evatt Shield at the WorldSkills Australia National Competition 2010.  The Shield is awarded to the region with the best overall score for all competitors.
