Mining
Australia is the largest exporter of gold, iron ore and black coal in the world and the leader in mining and mineral processing technology (60% of the mining software used in operations around the world is exported from Australia).
Mining represents a significant and the fastest growing industry in central and western NSW. Apart from standard courses in mining, TAFE Western has developed strong partnerships with a number of mining companies and provides them with specialised services, including workplace training and assessment.
In 2010, TAFE Western will introduce its state-of-the-art mining simulator which will be used to improve training and create more sophisticated mining graduates with numerous skills and wider knowledge.
