Group Training
Group Training is an arrangement where a Group Training Company employs trainees and hires them to other businesses, called host employers, while they are undertaking their training. The Group Training Company acts as the primary employer and:
- carefully selects the trainee
- takes responsibility for all paperwork connected with wages, allowances, superannuation, workers compensation, sick/holiday pay and other employment benefits.
- rotates the trainee from business to business, where necessary, to ensure that each trainee receives a broad range of training and experience.
Choice of training organisation
Some Group Training Companies offer to provide training and assessment.
If you decide to host an employee and use a Group Training Company , always remember that it is your choice who provides your trainee's training.
TAFE is happy to, and already does, provide training to hosted trainees employed by Group Training Companies.
TAFE is a leader in the field of training and assessment delivery and innovation. Our experienced Trainee Coordinators:
- maintain contact with your trainee and with you
- have experience and qualifications in the traineeship area
- have formal training qualifications and experience
Remember, this is your business and ultimately it is you decision who provides training to the people working in your business.
Incentives for hosted employment
Some Group Training providers pass the trainee incentives on to the host employer and some don't.
If you decide to host a trainee, this is something to consider. Make sure you contact all group training providers in your area and discuss this with them.
